What is a SmartMailer Campaign?

SmartMailers are automated, behavior-based direct mail campaigns triggered by actions like abandoned cart, recent purchase, or lapsed engagement. Once set up, they run continuously in the background and only send mail when the criteria are met. SmartMailers are perfect for retargeting with mail, ensuring timely and personalized postcards are sent.

Ideal for: Brands looking to automate postcards based on customer behavior (like Klaviyo but for print).

Requirements: Shopify or Klaviyo integration

Steps for setup:

  1. In campaign setup, choose Retention campaign, and the Triggered SmartMailer

  2. Choose a SmartMailer template and configure it (e.g. Abandoned Cart, Winback, VIP)

  3. Apply optional geographic filters (country, region, city, radius)

  4. Set SnapCapture QR destination (where your QR code should direct to) + SmartMap add-on (optional)

  5. Set a monthly budget (minimum $500)

  6. Upload your design or use our design service

  7. Connect Birdseye Balance to manage ongoing sends


Note: SmartMailers run continuously and only send when customers match your trigger rules. If you are looking for a more custom SmartMailer than the templates provided, contact us and our team will set it up for you.
